An international automotive parts manufacturing company is currently seeking a motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join their facility to the south of the Battle Creek, MI area (Coldwater). The ideal candidate will have experience with die cast manufacturing and a positive, team-oriented mindset. This is a full-time, direct hire position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities Include:

• Analyze manufacturing processes and equipment to improve efficiency and reduce machinery downtime—estimate material and manpower needs, assist with budget preparation, etc.
• Design and implement facility layout changes
• Perform tests on machinery to ensure compliance to quality and performance standards
• Collaborate with other departments regarding projects and process improvement initiatives
• Training of maintenance and production associates on machinery and processes
• Ensure safety and quality initiatives are being met on the production floor
• Creation of process reports and documentation for upper management
• Other duties as assigned

Manufacturing Engineer Qualifications Include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred, OR equivalent work experience and training
• Minimum 2-3 years’ engineering experience (including internships, co-ops, etc.) in an industrial environment; specific familiarity with metal casting and foundry-based manufacturing is strongly preferred
• Familiarity with utilizing Solidworks, CATIA, or similar CAD programs is required
• Good computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Analytical and quantitative approach to problem solving
• Strong communication and collaboration ability in a multicultural environment
• This position includes manufacturing and warehousing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, lift in excess of 50 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
