Job Description Prunes trees and palms on campus to promote best tree health and maintain a safe campus environment. Takes down hazardous and dead trees. Removes dead, broken, misshapen and undesired branches using hand saws, power chain saws, hydraulic circular saws, and other tools. Performs felling and pruning operations from aerial bucket trucks following the standards of the International Society of Arboriculture. Assures all appropriate safety procedures are followed on work sites. Maintains aerial bucket truck including checking of oil and lubricating the boom. Maintains gasoline, air and hand-powered tools, ropes and other equipment. Operates chipper and stump grinder as needed. Performs health, safety and hazard assessments on campus trees. Establishes and updates campus tree inventory documenting tree size and health status. Loads and unloads trash generated from jobs performed. THIS POSITION REQUIRES A POST OFFER HEALTH ASSESSMENT. Employee must possess and maintain valid Florida Class E driver's license.

Normal Work Schedule 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be needed. Will need to work evening and weekends following large storms or other emergencies. Expected Salary $19.25 to $20.40 Hourly Required Qualifications Completion of the ninth grade and two years of relevant experience. Preferred Bachelor's degree in a plant science major.
