Pediatric Psychiatric NP/PA Opportunity in Carson City, Nevada Location: Carson City, NV Position Details: Employment Type: Full-Time Position Type: Permanent Practice Type: Child & Adolescent Crisis Stabilization Unit Facility: 12-bed crisis stabilization unit, 10-bed inpatient unit, expanding outpatient services Start Date: June 2025 Job Description: Seeking two full-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP) or Physician Assistants (PA) to join team in Carson City. This is a unique opportunity to help build and expand a comprehensive behavioral health service line for youth aged 8-17 in an innovative, healing-focused environment. Practice Highlights: Work in a newly designed, warm, and calming crisis stabilization unit following a "living room model" approach Provide counseling, medication management, and crisis intervention for children and adolescents Opportunity to build and shape the program while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team Engage in mobile community outreach to expand mental health services Responsibilities: Provide psychiatric care for children and adolescents in crisis stabilization and inpatient settings Conduct assessments, diagnose, and implement individualized treatment plans Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive mental health care Navigate patients through the healthcare system and support their recovery process Qualifications: Required: Graduate from an accredited APRN or PA program recognized by the Nevada State Board of Nursing or Accreditation Review Commission on Education for Physician Assistants (ARC-PA) Board certification through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Active and unrestricted APRN or PA licensure in the State of Nevada DEA licensure and Nevada controlled substance license Eligible for medical staff privileges at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center Preferred: Previous experience as a PMHNP or PA in a behavioral health setting Prior experience working in a clinic or crisis stabilization environment Compensation & Benefits: No state income tax Medical, dental, and vision insurance Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Telehealth access Paid Time Off (PTO), mental health days, and volunteer days 100% vested 401K & Roth with company contribution Tuition reimbursement and referral bonuses On-site education & certification programs Base wage increases for relevant advanced degrees Free Calm app subscription for mental wellness About the Area: Carson City, Nevada, offers an exceptional quality of life with no state income tax, access to outdoor recreation, and a vibrant community atmosphere.
