We are seeking to fill multiple openings for the position of Personal Care Assistant (PCA) with our agency. Are you a kind, patient, and compassionate person who enjoys caring for others? If so, then you may be a perfect fit for this position! You will provide services to clients in the comfort of their homes. Only serious candidates are invited to apply. 

 

Role and Responsibilities

1. Ensure quality and safe delivery of home care services.

  • Participates in the development and implementation of client plans of care per home care agency policies and procedures, as appropriate.
  • Participates in client case conferences according to the home care agency’s policies and procedures, if requested.
  • Information regarding client plans of care is submitted to the Home Care SUPERVISOR in a timely manner.

2. Provide services to the client as per the client’s personalized service plan in a caring and compassionate manner.

· Service plans of care are discussed with the Home Care Supervisor on a regular basis.

· Client assignments and reports are received from the Home Care Supervisor.

3. May be required to transport clients to and from doctor’s appointments and other outings.

4. Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

-High school diploma or GED required.

-Current BLS CPR certification.

-Shall have at least one year of full-time experience in personal care or an institutional setting, such as a hospital or nursing home OR shall have at least one year full-time experience within the last five years in direct client care in a home care agency setting OR evidence of sympathetic attitude toward caring for the elderly OR currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program.

-Demonstrated ability to read, write, and carry out directions.

-Evidence of maturity and ability to deal effectively with job demands

-Good verbal and written communication skills required.

-Attends (8) hours of personal care training each year.

-Participates in professional meetings when directed.

-Must pass a criminal history check before work will be offered with this agency.

-Ability to work under close supervision to ensure competence in providing client care.

-Current driver’s license is preferred.

 

Physical Demands

-Must be able to read & write English.

-Must be physically able to lift, bend, and stand for long periods of time.

-Must be able to handle stressful situations due to client’s medical conditions.

-Must adhere to assigned and agreed work schedule.

-Able to drive up to 50+ miles per day.

-Must maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene.
