What We Are Looking For:

The ERM Actuary role will help bring an actuarial and business perspective to the ERM function. This position is responsible for identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring potential risks across the entire organization. The individual will help enhance a comprehensive risk management framework, work with the various business functions, and provide insights to senior leadership to make informed strategic decisions. Key responsibilities will include risk assessments, identifying emerging risks, defining and running stress testing, helping with the ORSA, and collaborating with the various businesses and functional departments to manage risk effectively. In addition to monthly ERM reporting activities, the ERM Actuary will assist with the quarterly management meetings and Board Risk committee. This role reports to Aspida’s Chief Actuary and CRO and is required to be onsite 3 days a week at our Durham, NC headquarters.

What You Will Do:

· Continue to develop, implement, and create an industry-leading risk management framework coordinating with Aspida Life, Aspida Re, AIS and Aspida Group executives and stakeholders

· Create and enhance risk appetite, stress testing framework, and risk management reporting to gain additional insight into the business and monitor compliance. This will include CTE or VaR metrics

· Collaborate with actuaries, the finance team, asset managers, M&A team, and other first line functions to build and enhance risk reporting around key strategic functions to help provide critical insight into decision making.

· Work closely with the Risk team on emerging risk issues including facilitating AI usage across the organization

· Help prepare for and assist with the quarterly management risk committee meetings

· Help enhance and complete Aspida’s Own Risk Solvency Analysis (ORSA) including building out the stress testing.

What We Require:

· Actuarial designation and a minimum of 8 years’ actuarial experience.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Excellent communication and presentation skills

· Deep understanding of risk management principles and methodologies

· Experience with annuity, asset, and reinsurance business strongly preferred

· Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams across different business units

· Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements

· Leadership skills to influence and guide decision-making at all levels

· Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools
