Summary: Valor’s Welding Engineer(s) employ their extensive knowledge of physics, engineering, metallurgy, materials, welding, and standards to design, examine, and evaluate welds as well as to plan, supervise, and document welding operations in accordance with relevant codes, contracts or drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate welding related issues to improve product performance and increase productivity
  • Design welded parts and assemblies along with production fixturing to accurately and repeatably locate components
  • Develop standards, materials, weld joint design, and welding processes
  • Maintain traceability of work product
  • Develop welding process procedure qualification, supplier qualification, and product testing
  • Troubleshoot welding problems and provide corrective solutions
  • Lead welding projects to adhere to cost, schedule, and quality requirements
  • Support Lean 5S initiatives to achieve a workplace that is clean, uncluttered, safe, and well organized to help reduce waste and optimize productivity
  • Stay apprised of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in welding
  • Support R&D functions, to leverage new technologies or methodologies to improve manufacturing processes and portfolio diversification.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder
  • Must pass all pre and post hire background checks
  • Must pass preemployment and subsequent drug screenings
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Maintain Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives “Employee Possessor” eligibility and Federal Prohibitor status regarding firearms
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline
  • At least five years of welding experience in a manufacturing production environment
  • Currently holds or has the ability to obtain CWI certification
  • Proven experience in 2D and 3D CAD software
  • Strong computer literacy with demonstrated proficiency utilizing: MS Office 365
  • MIG welding an asset
  • Able to safely operate hand and power tools
  • Able to read drawings and blueprints

Physical Requirements:

• RARE (less than 10%): crawling, climbing, gripping, lifting up to 50 lbs.

• OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): standing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, body-twisting, sense of touch, manual dexterity, lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., reaching, range-of-motion, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, climbing stairs, balancing.

• FREQUENT (up to 66%): walking, sitting, climbing on/off truck, reading, lifting up to 10 lbs.

• CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): speaking clearly, seeing distant, seeing, hearing-speech-range, depth-perception.

Position will remain open until 4 p.m. on March 5, 2025.

Salary: $79,718 - $102,495 annually
