Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule surgeries and procedures based on physician availability, operating room schedules, and patient needs.
• Coordinate pre-operative testing, clearances, and documentation.
• Communicate with patients regarding surgery dates, instructions, and necessary preparations.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations or referrals.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the scheduling system and patient charts.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care.
• Respond to inquiries from patients, physicians, and staff in a timely and professional manner.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or medical office certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a medical office or scheduling role, preferably in a surgical setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, surgical procedures, and insurance processes.
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and scheduling software.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
    • 6-8 cases a week

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
