About the Job:

We are seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to build scalable backend systems and infrastructure. As an early team member, you'll influence our technology stack, product roadmap, and foster a collaborative engineering culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver effective engineering work and sound product decisions to ensure high performance and craftsmanship.
  2. Design scalable, timely architecture; collaborate on system decisions; oversee all development phases.
  3. Mentor team members, contribute across technical aspects, and build trust.
  4. Work with product, design, and customers, representing engineering interests.
  5. Help develop a world-class engineering culture from concept to market.
  6. Share knowledge and foster a culture of growth and curiosity.
  7. Contribute flexibly as part of a startup environment.

Qualifications:

  1. 10+ years as a Software Engineer, with experience as Senior, Staff, or Principal Engineer.
  2. Proven record of creating scalable, performant, and well-documented software.
  3. Experience with web/backend technologies: React, Typescript, Node, Next, Python.
  4. Cloud platforms: GCP, AWS, Azure; Docker, Nginx.
  5. Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Firestore.
  6. Experience with enterprise integrations like IBM, SAP, Oracle.
  7. Interest in AI-enabled tools like Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, Devin.ai.
  8. Bachelor’s in CS or related field, or equivalent experience.
  9. High energy, clear communication, curiosity, empathy.
  10. Collaborative, high-ownership mindset; adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
