This is a Hybrid position for candidates located in San Bruno, CA or Hoboken, NJ. 3 days onsite is required.

Details

  1. Compose copy that gets to the heart of human truths. You’ll cover a range of topics & assets, including paid & owned social channels, site assets, emails, digital ads, store signage, printed mailers, large scale multichannel campaigns, brainstorms, pitch decks, video scripts, & billboards.
  2. Gain a deep understanding of our brand’s core principles, our creative copy voice, tone, & style guides, applying that understanding to the crafting copy to support business goals.
  3. Independently manage multiple copy projects on different timelines with varying levels of complexity & importance to the business.
  4. Own copy execution for large scale, high-priority campaigns. Determine messaging priorities & partner with design to compose high volumes of creative assets, integrate stakeholder feedback, & deliver final assets on deadline.
  5. Translate messaging direction & business priorities into compelling, customer-centric copy.
  6. Independently collaborate with Design & other team members to come up with creative solutions to meet business goals.
  7. Make edits following feedback from partners including marketers, site managers, editors, & the Copy Lead.
  8. Approach copy feedback from partners with a positive, collaborative attitude & willingness to learn & grow.
  9. Adhere to, & contribute to the evolution of, the brand tone of voice & copy style guide.
  10. Attend & engage in project kick-off & follow-up meetings by asking proactive questions, seeking clarity, & anticipating required information to compose effective copy. Confidently explain creative choices & work with partners to reach consensus on feedback.
  11. Take character limitations & design constraints into account when creating copy, & partner with editors to resolve writing or grammar issues.
  12. Participate in the quality assurance (QA) phases of projects to help ensure all final copy has been correctly implemented online & conduct audits of the site to identify & document errors.
  13. Stay up to date on competitors, industry & media trends, & technology developments as it pertains to retail & marketing. Contribute your knowledge to the team through meeting presentations or other channels.
  14. Act as proxy for Copy Lead in meetings & communications with partners, as needed.
  15. Maintain a positive, can-do attitude. Seek answers to ambiguous asks, find comfort working autonomously, & quickly pivot direction based on changing business needs.

Qualifications

  1. BA in Journalism, Creative Writing, Advertising, or related field & 4+ year copywriting experience.
  2. 4+ years’ experience copywriting in a e-tail environment.
  3. 4+ years’ experience working for or with creative agencies.
  4. Ability to work autonomously & self-manage, as well as collaborate closely.
  5. Willingness to roll up your sleeves & do what it takes to get the job done.
  6. Fantastic sense of humor is a plus!

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $55.60 to $60.60 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
