DIRECT HIRE: An awesome opportunity for an experienced Sheet Metal Mechanic to join a growing team. Responsible for fabricating duct and fittings and to complete on or below the budgeted labor hours, as requisitioned by shop foreman.
Pay Range: $28hr - $38hr

Role & Responsibilities: - Help maintain profitability within the shop
- Open shop at 6:30 AM daily
- Check shop inbox by 7:30 AM to review the need for emergency fittings
- Complete all shop fittings on budget or under budget, as determined by labor budget
- Assist with preparing job estimates and other projects as needed
- Supervise other shop personnel and assist them in completing shop fittings on a timely basis
- Ensure all fittings are ready by 7:30 AM for a smooth dispatch of the work crew
- Advises foreman at such time as workload requires more than 24 hours’ notice
- Maintain required levels of shop stock items
- Works with Installation Manager and sales team on ideas for reducing the cost of shop items, including manufactured inventory as well as custom fittings
- Keep all machinery and equipment maintained and fully operational
- Ensure that anyone entering the shop fabrication area has proper eye protection and follows all company safety policies
- Complete paperwork from the previous day, recording all hours and materials used on each job, and turn the paperwork into the accounting office
- Review schedule for upcoming jobs to make certain that all shop lists have been turned in for fabrication and notify shop foreman if any are missing
- Inform warehouse staff of any shop stocking items needed for the week
- Assist warehouse staff if needed with stocking, pulling jobs, or deliveries
- Keep the entire shop area neat, organized, and free of scrap and debris
Required Skills/Abilities: - Ability to read blueprints and schematics to understand project details
- Ability to safely use machinery and tools necessary for metal fabrication
Physical Requirements: - Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Education & Experience: - High School Degree or equivalent (required)
