The Job Summary The Boston Battery Wharf Hotel has a unique opportunity and is looking for a Revenue Manager to take the hotel to the next level. Responsibilities and skills include managing and leading revenue management for this boutique waterfront hotel. Responsible for optimizing group and transient rooms revenue through developing and implementing effective inventory management and pricing strategies. Monitor all distribution channels to ensure effective selling. Analyze reports to understand future demand forecasts, past trends, and translate this information to set/adjust strategies to maximize hotel revenue performance. About the Boston Battery Wharf Hotel The hotel is a renowned luxurious boutique hotel with 150 well-appointed rooms, situated in the North End of Boston in a picturesque waterfront setting. We recently completed a full guestroom refresh in 2024. Our team strives to provide guests with an exceptional experience across all touchpoints and to build lasting relationships. The hotel features amenities such as Café Amalfi, Battery Wharf Grille, and Exhale Spa. Essential Job Functions Manage online room content across all sales and marketing websites. Gather, evaluate, and analyze statistical data to identify revenue opportunities. Review and analyze hotel performance using reports like Agency 360, Demand 360, STAR, and sales reports. Evaluate, communicate, and adjust pricing strategies competitively. Optimize RevPAR by establishing effective transient and group strategies based on market and competitive analysis. Control room inventory, availability, and overselling limits daily to maximize occupancy and revenue. Stay current on revenue management trends and exchange information with brand partners and market managers. Monitor competitive set pricing and strategies, providing recommendations based on data analysis. Produce and distribute revenue management reports regularly. Lead weekly revenue management meetings to review performance trends. Maintain positive relationships with third-party vendors. Handle guest inquiries and reservations professionally, promoting hotel amenities and services. Create and maintain forecast and budget files, ensuring accuracy. Address guest complaints tactfully and negotiate resolutions, including alternative accommodations when necessary. Verify credit card authorizations for deposits. Adhere to company policies and procedures. Reconcile credit card commissions. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Core Competencies Previous revenue management experience. Ability to build, track, and execute budgets and forecasts. Experience in group, airline, tour, and transient markets. Excellent communication skills in English. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to analyze data and generate reports. Experience with revenue management systems like Opera, Delphi, etc. Strong time management and attention to detail. Professionalism in dealing with management and staff. Experience with Opera Cloud and hotel PMS systems preferred. Knowledge of advertising strategies and data analytics for ROI. Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changes. Problem-solving and decision-making skills. Drive for results and high performance standards.
