Jackson Purchase Medical Center is a 107 all private bed, Joint Commission-accredited facility. From emergent to elective, our facility offers a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including those offered at the New Beginnings Birthing Center, the Advanced Healing Wound Care Center, and our accredited chest pain center.

Why Choose Us:
The Registered Nurse, Emergency Room provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
·Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
·Documents patient care given.
·Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
·Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
·Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
·Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
· Works with patients' families to help improve the patient's abilities and help them deal with family member's illness.
Required Skills

·Decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
·Capable of working in a stressful environment and taking appropriate action.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
·Associate's Degree required
·Bachelor's Degree preferred
Certifications:
·Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
·Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire
·Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 30 days of hire
·Handle With Care (HWC) within 6 months of hire
Licenses:
·Registered Nurse licensed to work in the State of Kentucky.
*New Graduates may work under a KY provisional license for up to 6 months with the expectation that an RN license will be obtained within the first 6 months of employment.
