We are gathering a pool of qualified candidates for potential placement as part of an upcoming project. This is not an active hiring notice; selection and onboarding will occur only if the project moves forward. Candidates will be contacted according to the project timeline if selected for further consideration. All hiring will follow the requirements outlined in the projects special provisions, including background checks, occupational health clearances, and verification of licensure or certifications where applicable.

Position Overview:

The Public Health Advisor serves as a strategic advisor and subject matter expert to senior leadership, providing guidance on public health policy, program design, evaluation, and interagency partnerships. This role involves high-level analysis, policy development, and oversight of cross-sector health initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

With minimal guidance, perform one or more of the duties of this category and related work as required:

  1. Provide policy guidance and assess policy impacts on County public health programs or operations. Assist the Health Department or County leadership in establishing goals, objectives, priorities, or strategic plans. Advise on the design, development, or implementation of Public Health programs or services. Advise on the development of partnerships involving governmental and non-governmental organizations from multiple sectors at the community, state, and/or national levels. Develop frameworks guiding health education or outreach.
  2. Evaluate operational and fiscal performance of Public Health, Governmental, or Nonprofit programs. Develop reports, presentations, and other materials that may be released to the public or to senior or elected leadership. Conduct advanced data analytics, reporting, or interpretation of public health data sets. Develop approaches and solutions that accommodate urgent social and economic concerns. Develop and apply new public health program methods, approaches, and technologies, or the extension, revision, and adaptation of existing methodology to new and unusual situations.
  3. Serve as a public health subject matter expert; provide advice and guidance to senior public health or County leadership on a wide variety of public health matters.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelors degree required in public health, public policy, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in public health policy, program management, or interagency collaboration.
  • Advanced analytical and strategic planning skills.
  • Strong ability to communicate with diverse audiences, from community stakeholders to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based program development.

Additional Information:

  • Must be able to pass comprehensive background checks (Criminal History, FBI National Criminal History, Social Security Verification, and Residency History), and be willing to comply with the client's occupational health, etc.
  • Willingness to comply with client-required confidentiality and HIPAA agreements.
  • May require additional licensing and certifications.
  • Must be available to begin work within ten (10) business days of selection.
