Psychiatrist

Location: Batavia, NY 14020 (onsite)

Position: Full-time position, W-2, 1099 Considered

Employer: QPCS

Compensation: $175/hour (W-2)

Quality Patient Centered Services LLC (QPCS) seeks a full-time psychiatrist for day-shift work at Buffalo Federal Detention Facility. Come join a nurse-owned healthcare team serving underserved communities for federal, state, and local governments.

 

Psychiatrist Position:

· Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in a detention setting.

· Deliver urgent/emergency care, public health management, and case management.

· May provide telepsychiatry services.

· Prescribe medications and offer psycho-educational support.

· Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and ensure patient dignity.

· Maintain medical records and confidentiality.

· Homeland Security Facility which requires extensive credentialing and onboarding due to federal security requirements

 

Experience:

· 4 years specialty training; board eligible in psychiatry

· At least 1 year as a licensed psychiatrist

· Detention/correctional experience preferred

 

Education, Licensure & Certification:

· Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from a school in the United States or;

· Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school that provided education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States as established by:

· The National Committee on Foreign Medical Education and Accreditation (NCFMEA) and

· Permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).

· Full, unrestricted state medical Psychiatrist license (NY preferred)

· Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)

· BLS Certification (AHA required)

 

Psychiatrist Skills:

1. Psychiatric modalities knowledge

2. Multicultural competence

3. Proficient in telehealth, EHR, Microsoft Office

4. Effective English communication; Spanish a plus
