A Little Bit About the Position Are you a self-motivated and organized individual ready to excel in a dynamic environment? Gemini is seeking a Process Server to join our Civil department. You'll manage your schedule, expenses, and workload, creating efficient routes based on daily appointments and priority orders. Your responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, ensuring equipment functionality, and adhering to California's service of process regulations. You'll handle paperwork meticulously, report issues with orders, and collaborate effectively with other departments.
In this role, you'll maintain a safe vehicle and up-to-date registrations, optimize routes, and handle confrontation calmly and professionally. Maintaining positive client and location relationships is key. You'll demonstrate discipline, accuracy, and dependability in following standardized processes and completing work assignments. - Location: South Monterey County territory (some work remotely from home, plus regular local travel within the region); ideal candidate is located near Chualar, Gonzales, Soledad, Greenfield, or King City
- Schedule: Part-time with variable hours, including evenings and weekends
- Compensation: 100% piece-rate commission, with a rate of $23+ per serve completed, depending on the area. Other fees are earned for rush fees and subsequent serves completed at the same time. Very rural serves and stakeouts will incur an additional fee for time and mileage.
- Travel: Travel may be required for this position up to 100% of working hours
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of progressive experience in a route-based position preferred, but not required
- Valid California driver's license and clean driving history
- Reliable vehicle, current auto registration and current auto insurance
- Advanced time management and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle a high volume of work and function in a fast-paced environment, on deadline
- Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- Proficient using a computer, business phone, office software, and other computer programs including Google Workplace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Gmail, etc.)
- Adequate internet connection for home office
- Exceptional teamwork

FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation, including, but not limited to:
- Lifting, bending, standing, climbing or walking while carrying out assigned duties
- Lift, push, pull up to 35lbs
- Sitting for at least one hour at a time (total: 4-6 hours/day)
- Driving for extended periods of time, up to 4-6 hours in a day and up to 100-200 miles per day
