Pressman

While reporting to the Supervisor, you will be responsible for collaborating and contributing to the production environment within our manufacturing operations. Safety, quality, productivity, and strong work ethic are important to the Sonoco culture.

What You'll Be Doing:

1. Mount printing plates, cylinders, and dies into the printing press, and fill the dye font with ink.
2. Load the flexographic press with the material that is going to be printed on. Splicing and feed of material in press. Can lift materials that can weigh at least 10 pounds and weigh over 100 pounds.
3. Read job orders that gives specific instructions on what the printing should look like when complete. Fulfills the print run length requirements of the job.
4. Achieve color match and ensure the content of the print matches the target proof or guide.
5. Operator is responsible for producing the entire printing job correctly.
6. Cleaning the work area that surrounds the printer as well as maintain cleanliness of the press.
7. Maintain productivity standards per position for setup time, waste, press run time chart.
8. Maintain quality standards per position requirements-see chart.

We'd Love To Hear From You If:

• At least 2+ years' experience as pressman
• Finished training on press setup and press operation.
• Consistent maintenance and cleanliness of equipment, press, press area and tools.
• Consistent ability to match color and setup press for all customer jobs.
• MSDS knowledge of inks, solvents, all fluids used in operation.
