Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Powder Coater Technician to join our team, specializing in the coating of structural steel components for commercial and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with powder coating processes, surface preparation, and the use of coating equipment to apply durable finishes that meet industry standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Apply powder coating to structural steel elements, ensuring high-quality finishes.
- Prepare steel surfaces for coating using various methods (abrasive blasting, chemical cleaning, etc.).
- Operate and maintain powder coating equipment (spray guns, curing ovens, etc.).
- Monitor the curing process to ensure correct temperature and time settings.
- Inspect coated steel for quality control and ensure it meets aesthetic and functional standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with the coating process or equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of each project, including coating thickness and any quality inspections.
- Adhere to safety protocols and environmental regulations while handling materials.
Requirements :
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in coating technologies is a plus.
- Proven experience in powder coating, specifically on structural steel.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including ASTM and SSPC guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform quality control checks.
- Familiarity with powder coating equipment and surface preparation techniques.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
