One Pride. For All. The People Operations Analyst plays a crucial role in understanding and improving the employee experience while driving optimal outcomes. This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day data activities, systems and reporting needed by the leaders of the Detroit Lions and the People Team. This role is an expert in data analysis with attention to detail and the ability to recognize patterns to help uncover meaningful insights. This role helps deliver science to compliment the art of high performance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The People Operations Analyst position will have daily responsibilities including, without limitation, the following:
- Data Analysis and Insights
- Will assist with ensuring the development, collection and usability of data needed by the People Team
- Translate data analyses and insights into visualizations to facilitate insights on high-priority topics such as diversity, headcount, attrition, engagement and more
- Contribute to one-time analyses, special projects, and initiatives for the People Team function
- Helps gather insights and presentations that help leaders make people-centered decisions informed by history but with a view of the future
- Partner with other business analyst to align people analytics with broader organizational goals and strategies
- Reporting
- Create report design, report generation, data analysis, and data visualization that align with our People Team priorities
- Design and build reports in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) based on business/function needs
- Collaborate with the People Team in the collection and analysis of data for People Team reports
- Work with recruitment to build insightful reports that point to the efficacy of our recruiting program measuring time to fill, pipeline metrics and candidate source insights
- Conduct and complete annual company compliance reporting
- Employee Journey
- Assist with ensuring that all personnel and benefit files are up to date and compliant and well organized in our HRIS for easy access
- Provide users with requested data and/or aggregate data based on requirements
- Assist with engagement survey and insights, pulling together insights to drive meaningful action from the leadership team
- Analysis of offerings: Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations,
- Prepare total compensation statements for employees and will support in the administration of benefits
- Contribute to the implementation of People Team policies and procedures
- Systems and Enhancements
- Contribute to projects impacting culture, retention, learning, engagement, inclusion and diversity
- Blend HRIS and other People Team data sources to address specific business/user reporting requests
- Contribute to broader efforts to streamline HRIS reporting architecture and report logic with the aim of improving self-service and report usability
- Performance review process configuration
- Participate in the management of employee data and keep personnel records up-to-date in the HRIS
NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Advise team on selection of report(s) based data requirements and available reports
- Collaborate with colleagues to resolve data and data source issues
- Ensure high standards of data privacy, accuracy, and quality are maintained
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions that enhance efficiency and employee experience.
- Acts as a technical expert for all People systems that span across the company, including utilizing API's and understanding how systems work together.
- Utilize automation tools when possible to streamline the experience of all people
- Review employee performance/productivity metrics and provide a data-driven analysis identifying potential areas that need improvement
- Help to design and implement systems to support operational needs
- Manage the workflow of people processes during the employee lifecycle
- Analyze data on an ongoing basis to support the People Team to become more efficient and effective
- Must be motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Maintain professionalism when communicating with internal and external contacts
- Present findings using various analytical and visual tools
- Must be accurate and efficient with ability to meet deadlines
- Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- The ability to gather and analyze information skillfully and develop solutions quickly and effectively
- Will adjust work schedule to meet departmental demands

- Will accept other responsibilities and duties required by the supervisor consistent with the objectives and essential functions of this position. Such responsibilities shall be incorporated into the position description if they are ongoing.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Business Analytics or similar fields required
- At least 4 years of professional experience in the data/analytics field (regardless of function)
- Experience interacting with and manipulating data using tools such as SQL, R, or other statistical languages preferred
- Experience with python or another scripting language, specifically to interact with APIs and to parse and transform incoming data preferred
- Experience with version control systems (like Git) a plus
- Thorough knowledge of HR principles, best practices, and federal/local regulations
- Experience on HR/People teams with providing and actioning on quantitative reporting and analytics
- Proven track record of providing functional and technical support (APIs, integrations, etc) surrounding the employee platforms i.e. general configuration, trouble-shooting issues, managing settings and recommending process improvements
- Expert in Excel; ability to build and analyze data
- Experience with HRIS and ATS systems and reporting (Ceridian Dayforce, Culture Amp & Greenhouse preferred
- Experience turning data into a narrative with visualizations (e.g. charts, graphs, tables) and presenting to HR professionals and Leaders
- Working knowledge of capacity planning and/or HR Operations
- Experience developing client-oriented solutions, with an emphasis on creativity and diligence, displaying excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Strong work ethic, organization skills, the desire to learn, exchange knowledge and is not afraid to ask questions
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate with employees at all levels
- Be a thought partner for the People Team to provide insights and recommendations grounded in data and drive positive change by challenging the status quo.
