Position Summary:

The Production Operator in the pipe paint area is responsible for ensuring adequate, high-quality completion of our paint operations on our pipe product. This operator uses overhead cranes and manually applies paints to the product.

Principle Duties (includes, but is not limited to):

\n
• Mask / Unmask parts as required for paint operations.
\n
• Load / Unload parts from paint conveyor
\n
• Spray paint parts as they pass on conveyor with machine.
\n
• Manually apply standard primer.
\n
• Brush paint / touch-up under flanges, masked areas, and other areas where spray painting is disallowed.
\n
• Visually inspect painted parts to specifications
\n
• Clean parts as needed prior to painting.
\n
• Perform material handling functions using hand trucks and forklifts.
\n
• Report production and labor on VDT and work order traveller.
\n
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
\n
• Mix paint and solvents according to specifications and clean paint equipment routinely
\n

Essential Qualifications / Experience:

\n
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
\n
• Must be able to lift parts weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance, any parts weighing over 50lbs requires a team lift.
\n
• Must have basic blueprint reading skills to interpret engineering drawings and specifications necessary to perform job.
\n
• Must have basic math skills including addition / subtraction of fractions and decimal values for determining material, manufacturing, and inspection requirements.
\n
• Must have ability to read measuring instruments not limited to but including tape measure, mil. Thickness gage, and fluid measuring units
\n
• Must have good hand-eye coordination, grip strength and dexterity to perform paint and paint preparation using hand and power equipment at established production standards.
\n
• Must have basic reading/writing ability to read and interpret manufacturing orders and material requirements and to report production.
\n

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

\n
• Forklift experience.
\n
• Paint experience within manufacturing environment.
\n

\n

Hazardous Waste Handler

\n
• Awareness and satellite accumulation (including but not limited to) caps, labelling, dating.
\n
• Periodically removing satellite waste containers and deliver to less than central accumulation area.
\n
• Annual RCRA Training including Emergency Coordinator (secondary) refresher, Contingency Plan training, RCR hazardous waste training.
\n
