A San Francisco–based early-stage e-commerce and AI startup, founded by a repeat entrepreneur behind multiple successful Bay Area tech companies, is seeking a Senior iOS Engineer (React Native) to architect and own the mobile app experience. This is a rare opportunity to be the first mobile hire at a high-growth startup and shape the product’s mobile foundation from day one.

Job Title: Senior iOS Engineer (React Native)

Location: San Francisco, CA (Onsite, 5 Days/Week)

Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $180k – $220k + Meaningful Equity

Role Overview

As the Senior iOS Engineer, you’ll lead the design and development of a cross-platform mobile application built on React Native. Unlike traditional iOS roles focused solely on Swift/Obj-C, this position emphasizes speed, agility, and full ownership of the mobile stack. You’ll collaborate closely with backend, AI, and product teams while making foundational technical decisions that shape the long-term app architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and build a React Native mobile app from the ground up with a shared iOS + Android codebase
• Lead decisions on app structure, tooling, and integrations as the first senior mobile hire
• Collaborate with backend and AI teams to integrate features like intelligent agents, personalization, and dynamic pricing
• Own full features end-to-end — from prototype to production deployment
• Maintain and extend the JavaScript/TypeScript codebase, occasionally bridging native code when needed
• Champion best practices for React Native development, testing, and performance optimization
