Senior Mechanical Maintenance TechnicianIndiana Packers Corporation, Delphi IndianaIndiana Packers Corporation (IPC), a dynamic fresh pork processor based in Delphi, Indiana, is looking for a motivated Senior Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team at our world-class processing facility. The Senior Mechanical Maintenance Technician ensures equipment uptime through timely, in-depth mechanical troubleshooting and the competition of preventative and corrective maintenance of production equipment.Shift hours for this position vary based on the team assigned.Benefits and PayWe reward our team members with compensation and benefits above the competition, including three health care options (including an HSA), two dental options, two vision options, a very competitive 401(k) plan (with company match), and several other supplemental benefits (including a generous tuition reimbursement program).This Senior Mechanical Maintenance Technician position earns a competitive pay of $32.45 per hour.ResponsibilitiesRepair and troubleshoot broken or defective machine parts and maintain them to make sure they are working correctly and properly alignedMust work in full compliance with the approved safety regulationsCompleting daily work orders related to equipment and machinery to ensure minimum downtimeIdentifying and repair problematic parts by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts an equipmentIdentify and correct potential issuesUsing machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, hoists etc.....Other duties as assignedRequirementsMinimum Qualifications: 6+ years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment requiredApprenticeship certificate or equivalent education will be considered in leu of formal educationTIG/Stick welding and fabrication Ability to work independently and identify solutions with very little supervision.Resourceful in accomplishing tasksExperience maintaining mechanical drives, chain drives and conveyor systemsAbility to read and comprehend various prints, schematics and other company related documentsWillingness to be a technical leader within the facility and driving safety for the operation.Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and gear boxes requiredAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentWillingness to complete and adhere to all safety training requirements of the facility including, but not limited to: confined space, ARC flash, working at heights, Effective communication of issues and solutions to cross-functional team membersHazmat certification a plusWillingness to work overtime as neededWork EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions on the site including exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud and hearing protection is required. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in cold, hot, and outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust. Physical DemandThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support without fatigue. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arms and fingers, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs.
