PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

Responsible for the profitability, productivity and maintenance of all hot mix asphalt plants Company-wide.

Establish, monitors and controls plant operating costs. Prepares budget/ forecasts/ reports.

Manages plant inventories (liquid asphalt, aggregate, RAP, fuel, etc) and maintains a proper inventory level for continued operations.

Manages plant projects; ie: plant mobilizations, repairs, modifications, improvements, etc.

Manages plant personnel and facilities to comply with OSHA safety regulations, environmental compliances, and permits.

Perform daily equipment, walk around, and site inspections to identify and correct unsafe conditions and maintain equipment properly.

Manages and coordinates plant operations with Paving, QA/QC, Quarry, Sales, and Trucking operations.

Manages the utilization and maintenance of the asphalt plant facilities and related rolling stock.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Promotes awareness of and follows the Company's employee handbook and safety policies.

Exhibits a core understanding of mutual respect and promotes good customer service when interacting with internal and external customers.

PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business, or equivalent applicable degree.

Experience: 5 years of experience with hot mix asphalt production or related experience.

Computer: Skills Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Email; aptitude to learn in-house systems; keyboarding skills sufficient to complete daily tasks in a timely manner. Calculator 10 key helpful.

Math: Ability to calculate or analyze data and generate plant cost accounting reports.

Reading: Able to read and understand mix requirements, plant drawings, and schematics.

Blueprint Reading : Required

Licenses: Type 3 driver's license and favorable traffic abstract.

Other: Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Must be at least 21 years of age.
