Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician, you will collaborate with the Plant Manager to oversee the repair and maintenance of all machinery and mechanical equipment. You will also assist in managing activities related to the upkeep of all buildings and contribute to problem-solving and process improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage repair and maintenance activities in a cost-effective and customer-focused manner.
  • Begin work one hour before plant start time, open the building and gate, check all lift equipment, start up the air compressor, and service the air filter and water drain.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on all company machinery and equipment, including overhead cranes, lifts, light trucks, automobiles, and production equipment.
  • Set up and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule on all major machinery and equipment.
  • Provide the Plant Manager with current information on equipment condition and upcoming maintenance needs.
  • Maintain up-to-date maintenance and repair records on all major equipment, including those required by OSHA and DOT.
  • Oversee major equipment operation to ensure appropriate, safe, and efficient use.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of experience as a maintenance mechanic in a plant environment
  • Experience with lift equipment, overhead cranes, air compressors, and light vehicles
  • Certified mechanic for the type of equipment utilized, or willingness to obtain certification

Work Environment

Work hours are Monday to Friday, from 6 am to 5 pm, totaling 47 - 52 hours per week. The role involves both indoor and outdoor activities, with the expectation of getting dirty. The work environment is a concrete plant.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, Nebraska.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
