Full-Time / Part-Time

Licensed Practical Care (LPN) Acute Care, Various Units
United Health Services is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Inpatient Specialty Care departments at Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY and Binghamton General Hospital in Binghamton, NY. This position is benefits eligible.

24 and 32 hours per week available.
Salary Range
$26.00 - $35.87 per hour, depending on experience.

Overview & Responsibilities

Acute LPNs are United Health Service’s bedside Licensed Practical Nurses. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Providing skilled nursing care tasks and procedures under the direction of an RN, nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, physician, or other authorized health care providers in the Inpatient Specialty Care departments.
• Performs clinical assignments within scope of practice to maximize patient experience and ensure patient safety.
• Promoted and facilitates the compliance and understanding of Joint Commission, NYS DOH, Infection Control and all regulatory standards.
• Under the direction of a provider or RN, educates patient and family in health promotion and disease management using available resources.
• Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to UHS Hospitals Policy.
• Maintains CLIA Waived Lab standards and performs CLIA Waived Lab testing and proficiency validations according to regulatory standards. Includes tri-annual AAFP Lab Proficiency testing, lab quality controls and lab credentialing if required by the department.
• Collaborates with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities, reviews PI data and assists in the development of Performance Improvement Plans.
• Participates in educational opportunities.
