Full Job Description:
The Party Chief is responsible for the managing the activities of a survey crew throughout various job locations.
The Party Chief provides highly technical support and insight to project management for many different types of projects.
Job Duties:
Utilize survey equipment and manage others to locate, review, and research job locations.
Operations include identifying landmarks, physical objects, and significant land changes that would affect the required survey.
Supervise survey work, evaluate priorities, and coordinate work efforts.
Review the standard of work being performed and derive necessary field calculations from work completed.
Ensures that angles, distance, and information are accurate and conform to regulations and standards.
Consult with our Cad technicians and Project managers and provide knowledge during the final computations.
Maintain a highly organized work area and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Write reports, business correspondence, and project documents.
Perform survey activities such as leveling, traversing, topographic mapping, construction layout, as-built surveys, boundary surveys,
and profile and cross-section surveys.
Set up, adjust, and operate Carlson survey equipment including total station (Geomax), data collector (Carlson Plus with SurvCE),
and GPS equipment.
Measure distances, angles, and elevations for staking purposes.
Reviewing survey field calculations and adjusting when needed.
Locating or establishing vertical and horizontal control on various project sites.
Prepare accurate field notes and complete as-built drawings.
Responsible for maintaining work-issued vehicles, laptops, and survey equipment.
Follow company safety protocols and procedures.
Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, architectural plans, drainage plans and site plans.
