Role: Investment Banking Analyst – FIG M&A

Location: New York, NY

Salary: $110,000 base salary (with potential for performance-based bonuses)

Position Overview

The Financial Institutions Group (FIG) Investment Banking team is seeking a highly motivated Analyst to support M&A advisory and capital-raising transactions for corporate and private equity clients. Analysts will gain significant client exposure and play a key role in deal execution, financial analysis, and strategic advisory. Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with senior bankers to execute M&A, debt, and equity capital markets transactions.
  • Conduct financial modeling, valuation analyses (DCF, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions), and statistical assessments.
  • Prepare client presentations, pitch materials, and marketing documents.
  • Assist in the drafting of offering memoranda, investor materials, and underwriting documentation.
  • Perform industry research and company due diligence to support transaction execution and business development efforts.
  • Participate in marketing initiatives, client meetings, and deal structuring discussions.
  • Support strategic advisory services for corporate and financial sponsor clients, ensuring seamless coordination with corporate and commercial banking teams.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 0.5 - 2 years of experience (including internships) in investment banking, corporate finance, or a related analytical role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Exceptional quantitative and analytical abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of corporate finance, financial statement analysis, capital markets and FIG.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, persuasive presentations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Self-starter with strong leadership qualities, initiative, and the ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in financial institutions (FIG) investment banking is highly preferred .
  • Knowledge of leveraged finance, equity capital markets, and strategic advisory services.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with corporate clients, private equity firms, and senior bankers.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 preferred.
