This is a remote position with the ideal candidate being located in one of CURE's hospital countries.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The International Inventory Control Manager is responsible for implementation and management of CURE International’s global inventory systems. Some of the key roles include leading and developing the inventory management teams at assigned CURE hospitals, enforcing rules and regulations, promoting safety, and controlling and managing inventory.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Inventory Reconciliations & Cycle Counts
    1. Oversee the execution of inventory reconciliations and cycle counts across assigned CURE hospitals to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
    2. Review inventory variances and work with local teams to address discrepancies in a timely manner.
    3. Ensure that all assigned hospitals are conducting cycle counts in line with industry standards.
  2. Internal Controls & Compliance
    1. Ensure internal controls related to procurement and inventory are consistently applied across the organization.
    2. Conduct periodic reviews of inventory management and procurement processes to confirm compliance with CURE's policies and standards.
    3. Identify areas for improvement in procurement and inventory controls, recommending solutions and driving action plans.
  3. Training & Support
    1. Provide ongoing training and support to hospital inventory and procurement teams to improve their understanding and management of inventory controls.
    2. Develop training materials, manuals, and resources to standardize inventory management procedures.
  4. Operational Reviews & Problem Resolution
    1. Regularly travel to CURE hospitals to perform on-site reviews, resolve issues, and provide hands-on support to the procurement and inventory teams.
    2. Collaborate with hospital leadership to develop action plans for identified issues, ensuring follow-up and resolution.
    3. Work with the Supply Chain and Procurement team to optimize inventory management practices, reduce stock discrepancies, and enhance efficiency.
  5. Continuous Improvement & Best Practices
    1. Stay updated on industry best practices and implement relevant improvements to CURE's inventory and procurement processes.
    2. Lead or participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving inventory and procurement operations.
    3. Provide feedback and recommendations to the Director of Supply Chain and Procurement on opportunities for improvement.
  6. Develop Warehousing, Distribution, and Receiving Operations
    1. Implement and oversee best practices for warehousing, distribution, and receiving operations at each CURE hospital.
    2. Work with local teams to ensure that goods are stored, handled, and distributed in a manner that optimizes efficiency and minimizes loss or damage.
  7. Investigate Inventory Variances & Improve Controls
    1. Lead investigations into inventory variances, working closely with hospital teams to identify the root causes of discrepancies.
    2. Analyze existing procedures and controls, identifying weaknesses or gaps that contribute to inventory variances.
    3. Implement and enforce corrective actions, including enhanced controls and procedural changes, to prevent future count variances and improve overall inventory accuracy.
  8. Team Support & Reporting
    1. Assist the International Accounting Director with special projects and assignments related to inventory and procurement management and control.
    2. Prepare detailed reports, analyses, and recommendations based on inventory reviews and audits, providing insights to support informed decision-making and strategic planning.
    3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting on inventory performance and related metrics.
 

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)

The following KPIs will be used to assess the performance of the International Inventory Control Manager:

  1. Inventory Accuracy Rate: Ensure that recorded inventory quantities match physical counts across assigned hospitals, with a target accuracy rate of 98% or higher.
  2. Cycle Count Compliance: Monitor and support timely completion of scheduled cycle counts at all assigned hospitals, aiming for 100% compliance with internal requirements.
  3. Purchase Order (PO) Compliance Rate: Promote and track adherence to CURE’s procurement processes by ensuring purchases are initiated through approved purchase orders, with a target compliance rate of 95% or higher.
  4. Inventory Variance Resolution Time: Lead and support efforts to resolve inventory variances promptly, targeting resolution within 7 days of identification.
  5. Training Completion Rate: Facilitate and track completion of training for hospital inventory and procurement staff, aiming for 100% participation in required training programs.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's or associate’s degree in logistics, business administration, or a related degree
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in distribution, shipping, logistics, or related field, with at least 3 of the years in a supervisory capacity.
  3. Experience implementing an inventory management system.
  4. Evidence of continuing education, such as certifications, is a plus.
 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  1. Strong knowledge of inventory management best practices and controls.
  2. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  3. Strong knowledge of security best practices in managing inventory.
  4. Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  5. Familiar with a variety of inventory management systems; Odoo inventory management experience is a plus.
  6. Ability to establish priorities and proceed to meet objectives with minimal supervision.
  7. Ability to manage projects across internal teams and external vendors.
  8. Ability to travel extensively throughout Africa and the Philippines
