What You'll Experience

As an HR Intern at Federated, you'll rotate through various areas of our HR department, gaining exposure to:

  • Employee benefits and wellness programs
  • Leave administration and workers' compensation
  • Retirement planning and compliance
  • Talent acquisition and recruiting strategies
  • Employee relations and engagement initiatives
  • HR systems and data management (HRIS)
  • Compensation and benefits analysis
  • Special projects and cross-functional collaboration

You'll work alongside experienced HR professionals, contribute to real-world tasks, and participate in team meetings and trainings. By the end of your internship, you'll deliver a presentation to HR leadership summarizing your experience and key takeaways.

What We're Looking For
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Graduating with your undergraduate degree between November 2026 and June 2027
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities

Federated Insurance is seeking a full-time Human Resources intern in our Owatonna, MN office. This paid internship will last about 10 weeks in the summer of 2026. Pay for this internship is $24.00 per hour.
