You will help elevate our brand through a wide variety of design tasks-everything from print materials and booklets to motion graphics and video editing. If you have a strong design eye, understand typography, hierarchy, and layout, and demand excellence in every deliverable, this is the role for you. You'll report directly to the Marketing Manager, collaborating across departments, and playing a key part in ensuring our brand's visual communication is consistent, polished, and impactful.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • The duties of this position, though rooted in making things look pretty, will be diverse. You'll get exposure to many facets of design, print, motion, video, sound, etc. Key responsibilities include:
  • Design and layout of print materials such as booklets, brochures, flyers, posters, presentation decks, binders, etc.
  • Photo editing, retouching, compositing; ensuring images are high quality, color corrected, ready for print or digital use.
  • Pre-press/print preparation: file setup, bleed/safe margins, color modes, working with printers, binding options, paper types, etc.
  • Creation of motion graphics, video editing, and sound production/basic audio editing for short videos or branded content.
  • Designing digital graphics for online use: social media posts, website graphics, email campaigns, ad banners, etc.
  • Maintain and extend brand guidelines / style guides; ensure consistency across all materials.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and other internal teams to understand needs, briefs, audience, and deadlines.
  • Receive feedback, revise designs, iterate until deliverables meet high quality / perfection standards.
  • Manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously; organize your files, versions, assets.
  • Occasionally assist with photography/video shoots (set up, lighting, capture) if needed.
  • Other creative tasks as assigned, potentially exploring newer media or tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications

We want someone who brings both technical skills and a perfectionist mindset. The Ideal candidate will have:

  • A portfolio (school, freelance or personal work) demonstrating strong design eye: layout, hierarchy, typography, spacing, color use, composition.
  • Proficiency with design software - Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) is essential.
  • Experience or comfort with video/motion tools (e.g. Premiere Pro, After Effects, or equivalent) and basic audio editing.
  • Strong photo editing skills (retouching, background removal, color correction).
  • Understanding of print production fundamentals: file formats, bleed, margins, color space (CMYK vs RGB), binding, paper stocks.
  • Detail-oriented, with a commitment to high quality and perfection in finished work.
  • Strong time-management skills; ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and juggle multiple tasks.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills; able to take direction/feedback well and iterate designs.
  • Self-motivated, proactive learner; stays current with design trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Desired / Nice-to-Have

These aren't required, but will set candidates apart:

  • Formal education (degree or coursework) in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Multimedia, or related field.
  • Some experience with web/design tools like WordPress, Figma, Sketch, or similar.
  • Prior experience (academic, freelance, internship) in motion graphics or video production.
  • Sound design or audio editing experience.
  • Basic understanding of UX/UI or web layout.
  • Basic photography skills (lighting, composition).

Learning & Opportunity

In this role, you will:

  • Gain hands-on experience across print, digital, video, sound, and motion graphics.
  • Be mentored directly by the Marketing Manager to improve your craft, learn best practices, production workflows.
  • Build a portfolio of real-world deliverables you can show to future employers.
  • Be part of brand strategy conversations; help lift the quality of all visual communication for the company.
  • Possibly explore new tools, media channels, and creative formats.

What We Expect

  • A high standard of quality in everything you produce. If you touch something, it should look seamless, polished, professional.
  • Openness to feedback and iteration; not just "good enough," but "excellent."
  • Flexibility: varied tasks, sometimes urgent; you should be ready to shift between print/design/video/motion/sound.
  • Reliability: meeting deadlines, communication on project progress.
  • Ownership of your work but willingness to learn and adapt.
