SUMMARY

We’re looking for a Federal Government Affairs Director to engage with public sector leaders in Washington, DC. Reporting to the Global Head of Government Affairs, you will collaborate with a team including the legal, sales, marketing, and threat intelligence teams. The ideal candidate combines strong technical and policy aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, influential skills, and excellent presentation abilities. Our focus is on supporting government policies that promote secure cloud infrastructure globally through listening, questioning, and educating.

While candidates in Washington D.C. are preferred, we support a hybrid work model in this location.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

1. Support the growth and maturity of our government affairs program, focusing on educating federal policymakers, fostering a favorable regulatory environment, and supporting public sector market development.
2. Identify needs and lead the development of government affairs products for internal and external use.
3. Advise the Global Head of Government Affairs on policy developments, challenges, and opportunities, including strategic planning.
4. Build and maintain relationships with decision-makers across Congress and the Executive Branch.
5. Coordinate with consultants and industry associations to achieve effective policy outcomes.
6. Engage with third-party influencers such as think tanks, civil society groups, and philanthropies to support Wiz priorities.
7. Represent Wiz through publications and public speaking engagements.
8. Collaborate with teams across Wiz, including legal, compliance, standards, security, product, finance, communications, sales, and sustainability.
9. Perform additional duties as required.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• 7+ years of experience in advocacy, public policy, or government affairs, with diverse experience across government, military, consulting, thought leadership, or in-house roles.
• Strong familiarity with emerging technology policy trends in cybersecurity, cloud, cross-border data flow, digital trade, competition, AI, and public sector procurement.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of translating complex regulatory matters into accessible language.
• Interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Additional relationships with State, Local, or International Governments are a plus but not required.

Candidates must meet EAR part 772 and ITAR 120.15 definitions of a U.S. person and reside in the contiguous United States.
