Position Summary

Provides professional support to the Office of Field Education, assisting in cultivation and subsequent affiliation and monitoring of practicum sites for current and incoming PH&S students, supporting the development of community engaged sites, advising students to match and coordinate applied experiential practice, and other responsibilities.


Develops, affiliates, supports, maintains and monitors local, national, and international undergraduate-level community-engaged applied experiential practice. Provides professional support, coaching, and mentoring to students related to the field experience. Manages logistics, coordinates communication, and provides administrative support for community- engaged activities such as printing, emails, gift cards, transportation, and IRB logistics.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Field Education 

  • Develop, affiliate, support, maintain and monitor local and national applied learning experiences.

  • Assess and monitor the quality of experiences through the following methods: review learning agreements, conduct site visits, communicate with students and field instructors, and review assessment of student field experiences.

  • Collaborate with community partners to develop new and support existing community-engaged sites that align with PH & S program goals and APEX course objectives.

  • Monitor and maintain communication with affiliated practicum sites to ensure compliance with educational standards and support quality student placements.

  • Assist with the coordination of student placement processes, including preparing placement materials, tracking site availability, and managing communication between students, faculty, and field education sites.

  • Generate reports via review of mid-semester site visit reports, student self-evaluations, and field instructor evaluations of student performance in the APEX.

  • Coordinate and co-facilitate workshops, trainings, and presentations for new and affiliated field instructors; coordinate and co-facilitate field-related internal and external workshops, presentations, and field-related agency support site visits.    

  • Must be responsive to the needs of the School and its community partners.     

  • Maintain accurate records of student placements, practicum site agreements, and related documentation.

  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to support the goals and mission of the Office of Field Education.

  • Develop and coordinate field units; complete regularly scheduled agency site visits and generate reports on a quarterly basis or as needed.

  • Perform data entry to generate reports related to affiliations, site visits, and other field-related documentation.

Events & Programs

  • Coordinate the logistics and arrangements of major events and speaking engagements, including travel arrangements and accommodation, catering and meals, logistics for speaking presentations, preparation of meeting schedules, and ensuring prompt processing of reimbursements.

  • Serve as the liaison for campus and non-campus partners interested in co- programming.

  • Coordinate department events and programs.

Administration

  • Administer key aspects of the departmentâ™s day-to-day operation, including managing its programs and activities, social media, communication outreach, database, and file management.

  • Develop and maintain mutuality between the MPH and PH&S programs.

  • Coordinate recruitment, orientations, and meetings.

  • Promote the major and minor with the undergraduate population.

  • Coordinate student advising.

  • Help manage student records and degree certification.

  • Oversee coordination of and paperwork for studentsâ™ senior capstone and honors thesis.

  • Coordinate internships, including MOUs and necessary training.

$49,700.00 - $82,100.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
