Job Title: Fiber Optic Field Technician

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Job Summary: Pemiscot Dunklin Fiber is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Fiber Optic Field Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic cables and systems. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work in various environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, splice, and terminate fiber optic cables.
• Conduct site surveys to determine the best installation practices.
• Perform testing and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and inspections.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure project completion.
• Provide excellent customer service and support.
• Work after hours and participate in an on-call schedule as needed.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of fiber optic technology and telecommunications.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good physical condition and ability to work in various environments (indoor, outdoor, confined spaces).
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, if necessary.
• Must live within our service area.

Preferred Skills:

• Previous experience in fiber optic installation or a related field.
• Certification in fiber optic technology (e.g., FOA, ETA).
• Familiarity with tools and equipment used in fiber optic installation and maintenance.
