JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Restaurant Host

FLSA: Non-Exempt

DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage

REPORTS TO: Restaurant Manager, Assistant Restaurant Manager, Restaurant Supervisor

SUMMARY:

Greet guests in a friendly, professional manner. Seat guests. Take dinner reservations. Assist with cocktail service and with preliminary desk set-up. Assist in dining room table preparations. Provide excellent guest service. Answer phone and ring in to-go orders. Take payment for services. Maintain communication between front and back of house.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Greet guests in a friendly manner as they arrive.
• Be knowledgeable about the resort, Address guests’ needs including directions, resort questions, and concerns.
• Communicate any needs to the Manager, supervisor.
• Provide excellent guest relations.
• Report any accidents immediately to the manager.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Manager
• Provide appropriate menus for meal period.
• Change specials and prices in the system for appropriate shift.
• Check tables and set up for shift.
• Take reservations as needed.
• Seat guests as they arrive for meal-give guests menu.
• Cash out checks.
• Compile reports as needed.
• Tip out servers (if and where appropriate).
• Assist with restaurant service as needed.
• Keep host desk clean and organized.
• Effective use and management of company resources.
• Perform other duties to ensure smooth operation of department as directed by restaurant manager.
• Maintain pleasant rapport with guests.
• Help dining room run smoothly.
• Secure restaurant at end of shift (if necessary).
• Bus and reset tables when necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Skill & Abilities in:

• Team oriented, responsible, motivated.
• Comfortable dealing with the public and offering premium guest services
• Must be able to effectively communicate with directors, managers, associates, and guests
• Must be flexible and able to work irregular hours including holidays, weekends, and nights
• Must be able to work outside in various weather conditions
• Maintain a clean, neat, professional appearance.
• Work well with other employees.
• Utilize effective, professional communication skills.
• Maintain pleasant attitude with guests.
• Handle money and other methods of payment correctly and accurately.
• Learn computer and cashier system to obtain various financial reports.
• Work flexible schedule to include weekends, holidays, evenings.

Education, Training and Experience Guidelines:

High school diploma OR GED.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

• Be able to stand for prolonged periods of time. Have the ability to lift 25-40 pounds
