POSITION SUMMARY: The Event Planner II to the Events Department works in an environment conducive to multi-tasking. Provides administrative and project support to Events Department as needed. Plans and coordinates events performing a variety of administrative and managerial functions as needed. Utilizes skills in project management, decision making, and problem resolution. Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8:00am-6:00pm, including weekends and travel to events.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Coordinate communication with all department heads and managers relative to travel and event requirements
- Maintain database for event travel for staff, volunteers and contractors
- Review and evaluate RFP's and negotiate contracts for venues and hotels for events and coordinate evaluations before, during and after event.
- Coordinate housing and travel arrangements for staff, volunteers, contractors for KCM) travel events.
- Provides onsite support to Senior Event Manager during execution of events
- Troubleshoot and assist Senior Events Manager with issues that arise during the event.
- Plan and facilitate logistics for KCM events including contracts, presentation materials, transportation, and lodging.
- Manage accounting for department operational expenses and travel event expenses for staff, volunteers, and contractors as well as assisting in the creation of the event budgets.
- Review and negotiate contracts with A/V technicians and musicians for all events.
- Manage on the job training for new hires and temporary employees in Events department.
- Update crew notes for Event Manager
- Process deposits and final payments.
- Coordinate with internal staff and serves as liaison to Senior Events Manager.
- Research resources and contacts for events as necessary.
- Travel to events as necessary, both domestic and international
- Other duties assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: - High School Diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Three to four years' experience in church/ministry administration or business-related experience preferred.
- Two years' experience in meeting/conference planning preferred.
- One-year experience in project management field or a related field preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: - Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc).
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience in problem resolution and decision making, able to make quick decisions at times.
- Ability to multi-task and exhibit excellent verbal and written communication.
- Understanding of project management principals and processes.
- Excellent organizational skills and time management skills with high attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and deal with confidential information.
- Ability to handle pressure and manage deadlines.
EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Computer, copy machine, fax machine, telephone.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Able to sit at a computer for up to 10 hours per day.
Able to stand and / or walk for extended periods of time.
Must be able to travel, via air, to KCM meetings.
Ability to lift to 30 pounds

Highly detailed oriented and able to work independently with minimal supervision and deal with confidential information.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule and be able to travel to KCM events.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in typical office setting
Travels frequently to KCM US Events and International Events
OTHER: - Born again believer and must adhere to the doctrines of this organization as upheld by Kenneth and Gloria Copeland and their appointed representatives.
- Must work well with others, as a team and according to Romans 16:17, must not cause dissension, difficulties and divisions.
- Must maintain a good attendance record.
- Membership and attendance at EMIC are preferred.
- Because of the wide range of personal contact with ministry leaders within and outside the organization, this position requires considerable diplomacy, maturity, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work with people of all cultures.
