Position Title: Dispatcher

Reports To (Supervisor/Hiring Manager Title): COO – Assets

Onsite/Hybrid/Remote: Onsite in Pittsburgh, PA OR Hagerstown, MD (note: if in Pittsburgh, travel to Hagerstown, MD is to be expected depending on the needs of the business)

Position Overview/Job Description: In this position, you will manage, monitor, develop and/or expand existing accounts, ensuring optimum productivity from each account. Provide a solution to a potential customer, suggesting different modes of transportation, and different options within the mode. You will handle every aspect of every load you are assigned from before the load is picked up until the load is delivered.

Responsibilities:

• Independently manage the customers; carrier management, problem resolution, and other customer service practices while developing or expanding the business we do with that customer(s)
• Negotiate and bind pricing with both customers and carriers
• Ensure shipping requirements and regulations are met
• Notify customers if shipments are delayed
• Track shipment details, locations, ETAs
• Communicate with carriers regarding service levels
• Consult with management, providing insight into the overall performance of customers and the opportunities/strategy to grow the relationship
• Other duties and/or responsibilities that are required by business needs

Qualifications:

• Previous dispatch experience preferred; all transportation experience is welcomed
• Developing customers and pricing will be expected.
• Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (strong Excel knowledge is a plus) and ERP systems
• Able to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently
• Exceptional analytical thinking, problem solving and organizational skills
• Self-motivated and self-directed
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Education Requirements: High School Diploma required.

Salary/Hourly Rate: $52,000

Bonus/Commission Eligible: Percentage of linehaul revenue
