Position Summary

We are excited to announce an opening for a Corporate Counsel, Construction and Development in our in-house Legal / Social Responsibility Division. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, you will be part of a dynamic team of eight attorneys and two paralegals, providing essential legal guidance across our mountain destinations and corporate office in Denver.

This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with multiple practice areas, focusing on real estate, construction, and development. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, tackling a variety of tasks daily, from drafting and negotiating contracts to providing legal advice across diverse areas.

Essential Duties

  • Lead real estate project development, including site acquisition and land-use planning.
  • Expertly navigate AIA and construction contracts, advising clients on best practices.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review contracts for large-scale development projects.
  • Utilize AIA contract documents and the Catina platform effectively.
  • Handle real estate documents, including leases and property management agreements.
  • Assist in negotiating purchase agreements, closing documents, and more.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on legal and regulatory issues.
  • Engage with vendors on commercial agreements.
  • Enhance contracting processes and develop internal policies.
  • Conduct research and assist with transactional work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Member in good standing with the Colorado or relevant State Bar Association.
  • 10+ years of experience in real estate, construction, and development law.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • A passion for the outdoors and recreational industry is a plus!

Education Requirements

  • J.D. from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Undergraduate diploma or master's degree.

Salary Range: The base salary for this position ranges from $170,000 to $220,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This is just one part of our comprehensive compensation package, which includes various incentives and region-specific benefits.
