Job Description

Description

Are you ready to challenge the norm and redefine configuration management? We’re on the hunt for a bold, detail-driven Configuration Manager to take full ownership of hardware, software, documentation, baselines, and contract deliverables across high-stakes, mission-critical programs. If you thrive in secure environments, excel at orchestrating complex systems, and have a passion for driving operational excellence—this is your next big move.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and implement robust configuration management strategies across enterprise and supply chain ecosystems.
  • Own the CMDB—track, maintain, and safeguard the integrity of every configuration item.
  • Serve as the voice of logic and rigor on the Change Management Board, ensuring only vetted changes are approved.
  • Lead end-to-end configuration processes: identification, change control, status accounting, and audits.
  • Manage documentation and baselines with precision—capturing, versioning, and tracing every requirement, design, and software artifact.
  • Monitor and deliver all contract obligations with meticulous recordkeeping and on-time execution.
  • Proactively identify end-of-life hardware/software and coordinate seamless transitions.
  • Conduct configuration audits and support software quality assurance reviews.
  • Utilize ServiceNow, SAP, and SharePoint to streamline workflows and maintain operational harmony.

Basic Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field.
  • 12-15 years of relevant experience (or 10-13 years with a Master’s degree).
  • Deep understanding of configuration management frameworks (CMII, ISO 10007, or equivalent).
  • Proven expertise in change control and engineering documentation management.
  • Proficiency in CM tools such as Windchill, DOORS, Jira, etc.
  • Familiarity with government standards (MIL-STD-973, EIA-649).
  • Exceptional communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Demonstrated success in enterprise or supply chain configuration management.
  • Mastery of CMDBs and change management processes.
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow, SAP, and SharePoint.
  • Impeccable attention to detail, fearless documentation discipline, and a mindset that challenges convention.
  • Strong track record in managing baselines and technical documentation.
  • Experience tracking and delivering contract requirements with precision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Configuration Management certification (e.g., CMII, CMPIC, or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting large-scale government or defense programs.
  • Proven leadership in Configuration Control Boards (CCBs).
  • Background in risk management and continuous process improvement
