Job Description

Resort Lifestyle Communities is accepting applications for the position of Community Accountant at our Corporate Office located in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Community Accountant will be responsible for recording, tracking, and reporting Resident lease transactions, processing monthly rent roll and preparing community financial reports for designated communities. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Record and report resident lease transactions
    • Follow established community accounting processes and procedures to ensure consistency and effectiveness among communities and team members. 
    • Complete steps for monthly rent roll and monthly financial statements for assigned communities
    • Provide back-up assistance to other community accountants
    • Process bi-monthly resident check requests and assist with accounts payable
  • Proficiently utilize company software programs , currently the Census App, Portal, PM3, Event1, AvidXchange, Sage 300 software accounting modules, including general ledger, accounts payable, property management, cash management applications and Timberscan.
  • Account analysis – assist with bank reconciliations, expense allocations, deposits, recurring items, error and account reconciliation and other similar items as requested by Supervisors.
  • Crossing Training/Other Opportunities – provide support as needed in other areas including compliance, accounts payable, budgeting and other financial reporting.
  • New communities and new managers – Assist with on-boarding new managers into the community accounting processes and procedures, including but not limited to budget preparation, manager phone calls and Census App data entry.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business and/or accounting.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting standards and practices and their practical application.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft office software including spreadsheets, word processing and database applications.
  • Service oriented, with ability to communicate respectfully, compassionately and effectively.
  • Ability to learn quickly with little supervision.

Schedule and Benefits:

  • Work the following schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm at our Corporate Office located in Lincoln, Nebraska.
