Cisco and Fortinet Engineer II to join our IT infrastructure team within a dynamic and regulated financial services environment. This role is responsible for the design, deployment, management, and optimization of network and security infrastructure, with a focus on
Cisco networking solutions and
Fortinet security products. The ideal candidate will have strong technical acumen, analytical problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a secure and resilient IT environment in compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities Network Engineering - Design, configure, and maintain Cisco networking equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless controllers.
- Implement and manage advanced network architectures such as VLANs, VPNs, BGP, OSPF, and QoS configurations.
- Monitor network performance, perform troubleshooting, and resolve issues to ensure optimal system uptime and reliability.
Security Engineering - Configure, deploy, and maintain Fortinet solutions including FortiGate firewalls, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and VPN services.
- Implement and enforce network security policies, including firewall rules, intrusion prevention, threat management, and remote access security.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and recommend improvements to security posture.
Operations and Support - Respond to escalated network and security incidents and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to design and implement infrastructure improvements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network topologies, configurations, and procedures.
Compliance and Risk Management - Ensure network and security configurations comply with regulatory standards such as FFIEC, GLBA, and PCI DSS.
- Participate in audits, risk assessments, and business continuity planning related to IT infrastructure.
Qualifications Required - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience supporting Cisco networking solutions and Fortinet security products in a corporate or enterprise environment.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing protocols, and network security principles.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS, Cisco ASA, Cisco Meraki, and FortiOS platforms.
- Proficiency in firewall management, VPN configuration, and threat analysis.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and change management processes.
Preferred - Cisco certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or higher.
- Fortinet certifications such as NSE 4 or higher.
- Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries.
- Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and hybrid environments.
- Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or similar.
