Cancer Genetic Counselor -(240001RV )

The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the University of Maryland School of Medicine (SOM) is recruiting for a full-time genetic counselor. Working with the medical providers at an affiliated hospital, the successful candidate will be responsible for cancer genetic counseling.

The successful candidate will be hired as Instructor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences and active in the University of Maryland SOM program for the Master's in Genetic Counseling. In addition to teaching and supervision of trainees in Genetic Counseling, GCs participate in teaching the trainees in medicine and OB/GYN with the opportunity to participate in scholarly activities.

Position Highlights:

  • Collaborate with clinical experts in genetics and oncology
  • Strong clinical outpatient practice and inpatient consult service, including screening follow-up, outreach clinics across Maryland, and combined genetics-focused specialty services

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from a graduate program accredited by the Accreditation Council of Genetic Counseling and/or active board certification or board eligibility by the American Board of Genetic Counseling
  • Valid license to practice genetic counseling in the State of Maryland
  • At least two to three years of relevant experience strongly preferred
  • At least one year of academic experience
