Compensation: $19 to $22/hour.

Summary/Objective

Body Shop Buffer is a skilled craftsperson responsible for polishing and nibbing minor imperfections after vehicles have been painted. The body shop Buffer is responsible for the final stage of the automotive refinishing process, ensuring that vehicles leave our shop with a flawless and polished appearance.

Essential Functions

• Utilize various tools and equipment, such as buffing machines, polishing compounds, and sandpaper, to remove imperfections from the vehicle's surface and achieve a smooth, glossy finish.
• Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning, masking, and sanding as needed to ensure the best results during the buffing process.
• Conduct thorough inspections to identify any remaining imperfections, such as swirl marks, scratches, or blemishes, and address them to meet quality standards.
• Ensure that the paint color and finish match the vehicle's original specifications, and make any necessary adjustments to achieve consistency.
• Follow all shop policies and procedures as well as all safety standards and environmental regulations.
• Helps maintain shop appearance.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are primarily 8 hours each day, Monday through Friday on a day shift. This position may require overtime.

Required Education/Experience

High school diploma or GED (General Education Degree); or 3-5 years Bodyshop experience and/or training.

Possess tools of the trade.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be able to obtain a TWIC badge (Transportation Working Identification Credential).
