4th-8th Grade Online Reading Tutor (Bilingual)

About the Role:

As a 4th8th Grade Online Reading Tutor (Bilingual) at Braintrust Tutors, youll work with upper elementary and middle school students to strengthen their reading comprehension, fluency, and critical thinking skills. Youll provide engaging, consistent lessons using Braintrusts curriculum and materials, helping young learners build foundational literacy skills and confidence, particularly supporting Spanish-speaking students through bilingual instruction and targeted supports.

Tutoring Details:

• Start Date - Mid-October
• 12-week tutoring assignment
• School Day Hours (primarily on the East Coast)
• 4th-8th grade
• 45-minute sessions
• $22.50 for 1:1 session & $33.75 for group session

What You Will Do:

• Provide 1:1 or small-group virtual tutoring in reading for students in grades 4th-8th
• Implement Braintrusts intervention programs as designed, using all materials with fidelity
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic performance
• Collaborate with the Braintrust Operations team and school staff to support student growth

• Foster a supportive and engaging classroom environment that promotes focus and confidence

• Follow school-site procedures and policies while maintaining a professional and dependable presence

• Use provided assessments and progress monitoring tools for understanding to guide instruction
• Manage time effectively during sessions to complete all planned instructional activities

What You Will Have:

• Bachelors degree in Education or a related field
• Active or expired teaching license
• Experience with advanced reading instruction that includes morphology-based word study, vocabulary development, reading comprehension, and writing skills covering grammar, syntax, and multi-paragraph composition using a structured scope and sequence.
• Experience working with upper elementary and middle school-aged students preferred
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Comfort navigating a school environment and collaborating with teachers and staff
• Punctuality, professionalism, and reliability for all scheduled sessions
• Passion for literacy and closing opportunity gaps
