Job Title: Associate Attorney - Education Law

Location: St. Louis or Edwardsville

Salary/Payrate: $$85,000 to $105,000, depending on years of experience

Work Environment: Hybrid 

Term: Permanent / Fulltime

Bachelor’s degree required: Yes

Juris Doctrine: Yes

Law Licenses: Yes, in the state of Missouri or Illinois

Referral Fee:   AMS will pay $500 should the person you refer gets hired  

***Must have a bar license in the state of Missouri or Illinois***

Our client seeks an associate level attorney for its education law and litigation practices in the Clayton, MO office. The firm prides itself on providing the highest quality legal services at accessible rates to public and private schools, colleges, and universities across the region. 

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with partners and senior attorneys on litigation and client counseling matters involving employment matters, investigations, student discipline, special education, and much more
• Problem solving day-to-day issues with public and private education institutions
• Performing legal research
• Drafting pleadings and motions
• Drafting/reviewing/responding to discovery requests
• Responding to administrative agency complaints
• Assist with client training and professional development

Qualifications:

• Missouri license required
• Additional Illinois license preferred
• 2-5 years of experience
• Interest and/or experience in education law, employment law, and public sector law
• Exceptional research and writing skills
• Ability to develop and present well-reasoned legal arguments
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
• Aptitude for public speaking
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
• Strong work ethic
