Job Description
Envision spending your summer working with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, all while gaining world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. This is a reality for AbbVie Interns.
This is in the North Chicago Manufacturing Engineering Department. We run engineering and automation projects from small equipment replacements to brand new systems. There will be hands on work in the field for four different manufacturing buildings in Fermentation, API, Aesthetics, and Terminal Sterilization.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Understanding the product buildings and the equipment trains
Supporting the engineering group in projects
Reading and understanding PID
Reading and understanding Equipment specifications
Interaction with various Vendors
Project Management, financial and scheduling
Interaction and understanding impact to operations
Presenting project status
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or other related field
Must be enrolled in university for at least one semester following the internship
Expected graduation date between December 2026 – June 2027
