SWINE ACT’s forced air facility eliminates the large monthly bills normally associated with mortality such as fuel or charges from the rendering plant. The forced air composting system is faster than any composting system you have ever seen, cutting the composting process time by half (from 180 days to 90). Reports from farmers using the our forced air composting facilities indicate that mortality ranging from 6,000 lbs to 8,000 lbs can be completely composted in 60-75 days. During the proprietary composting process temperatures will consistently reach between 140 and 150 degrees for over 27 consecutive days. This sustained high temperature not only speeds up the composting process, it also provides superior pathogen reduction, exceeding both state and federal guidelines. Feedback from growers currently using our composting facilities to compost hog mortalities has been overwhelmingly positive.
